We were offered a drop on session with the Aylesbury Town council yesterday We came away with the strong view that the council is not trying hard to find alternative sites and is acting in undue haste , given they said they have estimated they have approximately 9 years worth of room left in the current cemetery . We asked them if it their decision was in part to the fact that pre selling plots was significantly more lucrative for them and they did not deny that this was a factor!
we handed them our online petition which at the time had over 2200 signatures as well as a hand written petition containing almost 1000 names .They will be delivering their decision this Thursday at 7pm at their town council meeting at 5 church street . Anyone who wants to listen to them announce their Decision on Thursday is welcome to attend this meeting.
