In 2016, CBS/Paramount filed a lawsuit against Alec Peters and his team working on the fan film Star Trek: Axanar, determined to destroy his idea which happens to line up with the ideals of the franchise’s creator, Gene Roddenberry. This decision not only hurt Axanar, but it stamped out any creativity from other fan productions. I don’t like it when studios interfere with the vision of the filmmakers. What I propose is that with Star Trek: Picard ending after its third season, I would encourage CBS/Paramount to give Alec Peters and the Axanar team a second chance. I’m not trying to start an act of rebellion, but I do think that these guys deserve an official chance. Not just for me, but for the fans.
