Thank you once again to everyone who has signed the petition. Amazingly, there are still people out there unaware that Autumnwatch has been cancelled, so please continue to spread the word and share the petition.
Today, I received yet another 'copy and paste' press release from the BBC, but still no reply from Tim Davie or whoever monitors his email inbox. 115,000 people sign a petition, and you don't reply? What does that tell us?
As we head into spring, it's easy to forget what the dark and gloomy days of autumn can do to our mental health. Autumnwatch shows us that there is so much to appreciate at that time of year. Forget the gloom and listen to bellowing stags, watch the leaves change colour, and witness the arrival of migratory birds. Some complain that there is too much anthropomorphism. As a biologist and science teacher, I know it's often the best way to help someone understand a concept you wish to convey. Autumnwatch also appeals to a diverse audience so a variety of approaches is best.
Please continue to fight for television programmes we value. After all, we pay for them.
