NSRI – East London – Wednesday, 20 August. Extensive efforts to save the life of chocolate Labrador dog ACHI:

 
NSRI has commended the Department of Agriculture, Minister John Steenhuisen, his staff at DoA, and local Eastern Cape (East London) Ward 18 D.A. Councillor Jason Mc Dowell, for their 11th hour intervention that has played the culminating role that saved the chocolate Labrador dog ACHI from being put down on Tuesday, 19 August.
 
We have 100% confirmation that dog ACHI will remain alive and healthy and our gratitude, to all involved, including the local community and media, is greatly appreciated.
 

 Dog ACHI has tested negative to any risk. While formal procedures to follow are still being ironed out the way forward is positive and well received.
 
Local Vet, Dr Wood, at Nahoon Veterinary Clinic has been commended for caring for dog ACHI since the rescue operation that unexpectedly landed ACHI on our shores.
