Letter to Kesha Gibson-Carter and Savannah City Council

Hello Alderwoman Kesha Gibson-Carter,
I would like to thank you for coming to listen to the citizens of Carver Village about their concerns. After hearing the response from our First District Alderwoman Bernetta Lanier, and Mayor Johnson at the last council meeting their response on public record, has fulfilled the mission of this petition.
I have communicated to the citizens, that the elected officials said on public record, that due diligence was given to inform the residence, and that the plans will continue as planned, as other residence have showed consensus that they support this development.
I called each of the attendees, and have given them potential next steps that could be taken to further advocate against this development. My recommendation is that they survey neighbors, asking their neighbors if they knew about the development, and if they support the development. If, they find that many didn't know, then start another petition to demand their elected officials talk with them based on the survey results.
However, it seems the pressing concern is drainage in the community. Reverend German lives on Heron near Agate, and he said there is flooding issues. This has been a problem long before any of the developments got started. He has been in the neighborhood since 1954, and he said he has made complaint after complaint, and have received promise after promise it will be corrected and as of yet has not.
To Alderwoman Bernetta Lanier:
Pressing Concerns in Carver Village:
1. Plans for Carver Village Drainage, it was stated that the city maintenance facility has new drainage and not Carver Village, it appears that drainage is being addressed for the new developments, but not the community.
2. Speed Bumps needed on Carol, Blun and Allen.
3. The Parks on need playground equipment, equipment for handicapped people.
4. Need a Pool (Previous Promise Made).
5. Need a Gym ( Previous Promise Made).
Q from Citizen: What are the two Grey Buildings on Gwinnett being used for? They appeared there 10 or 15 years ago. Suggestion to make those buildings the city maintenance facility.
Thank you,
Natavia Sanders
