Congratulations on 700 signatures in less than 24 hours!
You should be feeling great right about now, but don't stop sharing this petition!
You should also know the plan for this shelter is indeed “low barrier” or as The City of Saratoga Springs City Council 10/18/22 meeting minutes describe “a full-time low-threshold shelter on the Property”.
If one was to contact Shelters of Saratoga directly, would they be in agreement that “full-time low-threshold” is how the lease agreement reads? Is SOS even staffed appropriately to move in as soon as the Seniors move out in April? How many citizens are still under the impression that this is only a Code Blue shelter, as it has been presented in the past.
We support a compassionate solution, but we strongly oppose locating a homeless facility next to a school.
All of New York State should know, the elected City Council members in The City of Saratoga Springs voted unanimously on 10/18/22 that the best way to address the City’s Homelessness is putting a homeless facility directly next to a school.
