Increased police visibility throughout Langa to stop child traffickers

Increased police visibility throughout Langa to stop child traffickers

The Issue

A child goes missing every 5 hours in South Africa. It's time to put an end to this horrific reality that is hurting our communities. One way of reducing the number of missing children in our township, Langa, is to increase the number of SAPS patrol vehicles to deter these criminals from taking our children. At the current state, traffickers are getting away with kidnapping children because it is just too easy. The current police patrol vehicles passing by once every few hours leads to a large window of opportunity, so we need to close this window by increasing the frequency of SAPS presence in our communities. Please help us reach 2,000 signatures and we will present this petition to the South African Police Service's office in Langa on the 8th of December. We are asking them to increase the number of patrol cars and frequency in all parts of Langa, not just the hotspots, especially during the school holiday period where the children are playing outside unsupervised and are more at risk. Together we can help reduce the number of children being trafficked.
