This petition is important as these streets are the heaviest traveled in Santa Cruz County. It would not be appropriate to add more congestion and height to buildings or to add higher new buildings on such narrow streets. The increase in density would allow too much congestion into a crowded area. The density of 55 density units could be zoned to 7 stories high. High buildings on Water Street and Soquel Avenue would negatively impact this area. The congestion and traffic would place an unbearable burden on the community. There is not room to widen the streets, Thank you.
