PETITION Update: A date has been set for petition to be reported to the Cabinet Petitions Committee. Date: 5th October, 4.30pm, Committee Room 2 @ The Sandwell Council House, Oldbury. Re: Current Travellers on Walstead Rd/The Players - TRAVELLERS on Walstead Road/The Players - Have just come off phone to Walsall Police, they are as frustrated as we all are with what they are able to do whilst observing current practices and procedures. A PC Moss (21704) was very informative, not all postive immediate action though I'm afraid. The Council have set about the removal procedure and if all goes through a Court Order will be in place next Thursday. Have been told will be kept updated and will advise. In the meantime if there are any issues call 101 but ALWAYS in an emergency call 999. There does seem to be a marked difference in the communication with the Police this time round, something we did highlight as being very poor. That's a positive at the moment at least. Sorry can't give more information to move them quicker. If there is any ASB or Public disorder the Police can use Section 61 to remove them so always worth telling the Police if anything occurs. https://www.police.uk/west-midlands/WSEF/
