Signatures from Nebraska carry the most weight in a Nebraska vote. If you live here, send the petition to three people today, a neighbor, a parent from your child's school, a coworker whose kid plays something. If you are out of state, send it to anyone you know in Nebraska.

Emerging sport status is designed to add, not to take. It runs for three years, which gives schools time to see how lacrosse fits before anything becomes permanent. The season is built so it does not overlap another sport's roster. Varsity comes first, JV is phased in gradually over those years, and the weeks of play can be adjusted along the way. The test is not how many students play lacrosse. It is whether total participation across the whole school population goes up.
World Lacrosse is coming to Omaha on October 17. Rob Gross, Chair of Education and Training for World Lacrosse, is training high school officials here in Sixes, the six a side format lacrosse will play at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Officials have to be in place before any state can run school seasons, and Nebraska will need them. If you know someone who officiates any sport, or a parent looking for a way to stay involved, pass this along.
We are presenting at the SHAPE Nebraska Conference in Kearney on November 2. SHAPE Nebraska is the state association for health and physical education teachers, and we are bringing them a free K-12 lacrosse curriculum. Girls in grades 8 through 12 can train with college coaches on October 3 at a clinic in West Des Moines, Iowa. Nebraska girls are welcome, and it is about two hours from Omaha. Coaches from Benedictine College, the 2026 NAIA national champions, St. Ambrose University, and Culver Stockton College are confirmed. The cost is $35 and it covers the field.
