Save The Date Nov 27 - Final SLO Hearing 9am - 5pm

SLO County Cannabis Business Association

Nov 15, 2017
Dear Supporters,
This is it - November 27, 9am - 5pm the SLO County Board of Supervisors will hold their final hearing and adopt an ordinance which will affect all of us. Please be there. They will take public comments and everyone can speak for up to 3 minutes.
District 4 has 2/3 of the "approved plants" in her district with over half, 49,000, all in one greenhouse grow at Clearwater Nursery. A handful of "smell complaints" have been made about just a couple of these bigger growers who happen to be upwind of subdivisions that were built long after the greenhouses in rural lands!.
District 5 has a bunch of previously approved mmj grows in the remote ( CA Valley). Public policy based on a handful of "smell" complaints and calls from just a couple grows located in rural areas. As a result, this decision will impact the tax payers of SLO County and could negatively impact the positive fiscal outcome resulting from the end of prohibition. Cannabis is being grown and consumed for decades everywhere so the only change about to happen is the product will be regulated and can be taxed.
Key Talking Points for the hearing -
For every $1 dollar earned from cannabis, ancillary businesses make $5
The Voters of SLO County Voted for Prop 64
Storefront Locations are Safer and Preferable to all those purchasing cannabis.
Arbitrary Limits on Permitting are Not Fair to property owners
Banning personal outdoor growing of 6 plants increases California CO2 emissions and energy use for no good reason. 3% of all electricity already is being used for indoor growing in CA. Let's not increase it.
See you Nov 27th!
