Today, I called U.S. Congressman Jay Obernolte's office located in Hesperia, CA located at 9700 Seventh Avenue, Hesperia, CA 92345. I called the U.S. Congressman to let him know that the Hesperia Animal Shelter located in his same city has closed their doors to people who find stray animals on the streets and to people needing to surrender their pets. The shelter is telling people to go dump them back where they found them or in the desert. The shelter remains open for people to look at the animals they have inside the shelter but no animals can be left at the pound.
Hayden Bartz, a Field Representative in Jay Obernolte's office, told me our U.S. Congressman can't help the shelter or the abandoned animals despite the fact that his office is located in Hesperia, CA where the animal shelter is located. I asked if the Congressman could simply make a call of concern over to the animal shelter. He told me "no." He told me to call someone else who can do something.
Please call our elected U.S. Congressman Jay Obernolte who represents Hesperia, CA and surrounding communities. Let him know that you expect him to help. Call Jay Obernolte at 760-247-1815 or his Field Representative Hayden Bartz at 760-247-1815 and let them know your expectations of our elected officials.
