I received this plea today. We've gotta help. Please look at the links and also read a rant from a local animal rescue below.
We are not aware of any adoption interest, foster offers, or rescue interest for these dogs. Many of them have ZERO pledges. We are dreading this week's massacre.

These 24 adoptable dogs will be killed today at the Apple Valley Animal Shelter in Apple Valley, CA. There is nothing wrong with these dogs and they are adoptable to the public.
This animal pound does nothing to help place them according to local residents and volunteers. Even the workers will tell you they do nothing. Most of the dogs they plan to kill today are young puppies. And get this, if you call and beg them to stop the killing they won’t extend their termination dates. You must adopt or rescue now. If you don’t show up by 3 PM today...November 16th...game over. Plus, there are hardly any adoptions happening at this pound. Matter-of-fact, their numbers are so horrific they won't tell you if an animal is killed or adopted. They keep this information private and only release kill stats on occasion. Rescues keep alienating this place day after day because they are treated so poorly. Apple Valley is far away from population centers so many believe they are contracting with animal pounds to do most of their killings so other SBC pounds can report low kill numbers.
And get this, Apple Valley charges animal rescues $80 per dog. Not only do animal rescues have to drive in many cases hundreds of miles to get to this pound, they turn around and try to profit off the animals they plan to kill.
Here is what one local rescue said, "The rescue coordinator demanded to see “Vet treatment plan for their sick dogs”, a letter from the vet stating Diagnoses, $300 PCR test and RX drugs bc if there are no RX that means the rescue is neglecting sick animals and “NEEDS To BE INVESTIGATED!!” This happened to several rescues after they complained about their never ending Gravely sick animals! I did the same and got Exact same threat to be “investigated”. Because if I claim ANY dog is sick ann can’t be fixed while I signed the waiver that the dog was sick at exit, I will be “investigated”. So present the certificate within 30 days or $300 PCR test or you will lose everything including your status, your 501 and get a knock on your door! We have no right to complain! “Partnership” with this place is straight up Dangerous for the rescues why they run for the hill! I don’t think any of these dogs will be rescues for all the reasons above. Not only there is $80 pull fee for sick unfixed euth listed dogs, you have to do $300 PCR test for all, present test results (if they are even accepted as genuine). Then pay for treatment and private vet spay $250. Each dog out of there has been costing us $600-$1,000 abs nobody can continue in this pace. I really really don’t think there is such thing as reasoning with people who run it for decades and openly stated “I can tell you now, nothing is about to change!” The solution.. Oakland shelter... no other way around it.. I’m done reasoning. I tried. And I got threats of retaliation in return!!"
