Yesterday this letter and petition was sent to the Board of Trustees along with some community partners. Since then, there has been no response on their side. Thank you to everyone who is sharing, to the bravery demonstrated when community comes together for one effort.

If history has shown us anything, it’s the power in grass roots movement. If you feel comfortable, join us in emailing the Board of Trustees and community partners. Big corporations like SMU will easily dismiss this to a problem of the few. Let us show them that this is not a minor situation and that there are repercussions when you intentionally make decisions that cause harm and impact already marginalized communities.
