Seattle Children's launched the Strong Against Cancer initiative in 2019 with an audacious goal to raise $100 million for pediatric cancer immunotherapy research. We started with one clinical trial for pediatric leukemia and treated five patients. Today, thanks to the unwavering Strong Against Cancer team of researchers, nurses, doctors, staff — and you — we've received FDA approval for 11 trials and have enrolled more than 250 patients!

We are also excited to share that, this year, we reached that $100 million goal! What's more, we accomplished this feat ahead of schedule thanks to the incredible generosity of the Strong Against Cancer community. By supporting Strong Against Cancer, you've not only raised awareness for pediatric cancer immunotherapy, you've also played an integral role in incredible accomplishments for kids battling cancer. We are filled with gratitude, pride and optimism for the future of pediatric cancer and immunotherapy.

Because we have accomplished so much, and because we have the opportunity to do even more, the Strong Against Cancer initiative will conclude at the end of October. Going forward, we will grow Seattle Children's pediatric cancer program locally, regionally and nationally under one brand, as one team.

Seattle Children's has the most comprehensive pediatric CAR T-cell therapy program in the world, and there is still so much work to do to raise financial support for our immunotherapy programs specifically and our cancer program more broadly. As you know, once you enter the world of pediatric cancer, it changes you forever.
