While I've been staying at the Salvation Army SODO shelter in Seattle I've experienced a lot of hatred and intimidation tactics towards me that includes everything from tampering with my food, the air quality coming out my vent, my property and more. The environment here got extremely volatile after others noticed myself and a lady of European decent (I am a Moorish American so our interactions by the ignorant would be seen as "interracial") we were becoming friends and I believe they (Staff and residents alike) decided to do everything they could to make us "look at the ground" instead of each other. From then on I've had people breaking into my property when I'm not around, I've had food that made me sick, I've had to deal with staff and residents making disrespectful and hateful comments towards me and more. I've written grievances, emails and even started a petition to resolve this situation but to no avail. Due to the fact I believe the Salvation Army is involved and is covering for the hate crimes being committed against myself and others, I'm asking you guys to investigate this shelter, its surveillance cameras and any other complaints of this kind that may be related to their actions.
How many of you have stories like mine? How many of you have been taken advantage of while struggling to just get your life together and get back on your feet? How many of you are ready to demand and fight for Justice against all forms of ignorance, hatred and oppression?
You see it is my belief that these evils have continued to occur in our communities because the people we've elected to offices of honor and We The People ourselves have become derelict in duty and in doing so, we've presented the enemy of our liberty and justice to get away with far too much. Where is the accountability? Where are all of the soldiers willing to fight ignorance, hatred and oppression in its many forms, such racism, human trafficking, white supremacy and all other forms of evil, oppressions and hatred? I for one have had enough.
