Lets Honour and Respect Salford's finest son Alan Henning with a permanent memorial.
The Issue
We the signatories of this petition hereby request/demand a permanent and fitting memorial in the form of either a public space, road or building dedicated to Salford's finest son Alan Henning, a man who represents the very essence of the true Spirit of Salford.
Alan was an local taxicab driver but his life was so much more, he was a devoted husband, doting father and the love and compassion carried in his heart extended to countless souls suffering in war torn regions who he saw it as his duty to help.
Despite being aware of the huge risks to himself Alan was determined to get humanitarian aid to those who needed it most. Ultimately he paid for his heroic deeds with his life and as such he should be immortalised in his home City which to this day carries him in its heart.
In short he was a true hero, the best of us, an inspiration that future generations of Salfordian's should never forget.
