To make it illegal for people to be able to sell on tickets for events such as sport, music and theatre above the face value price of a ticket, and for such behaviour to be an offence.

The Issue

Like many people I was unable to get tickets for the first run of Kate Bush tickets that she had announced in 35 years. Everyone knew that demand would outsrip supply. But for tickets to be bought up and sold on within a matter of hours at vastly inflated prices, was insulting to many people. Sports people, actors, performers and others will not see this extra money, rather it will go to line the pockets of people and organisations who seek to exploit genuine fans.

By signing this petition, we say that we are not prepared for the present situation to continue and wish to the government to implement enforceable action to prevent it.
