I have received a response to my letters to the Minister of Justice. More recently a telephone call from a representative of the Minister. He indicated he will be presenting to the Minister his findings for the Minister to decide next steps.
I’d like to encourage you to write to the Minister of Justice and let him know your concerns about the changes made to the roadside breathalyzer test and the SafeRoads Alberta appeal process for those that cannot provide a successful test due to medical, mental or other conditions.
As we approach the holiday season, check stops will be set up. Please be careful driving and if you have any medical conditions and have not been drinking, possibly be prepared with a doctor’s note if you are given a roadside breathalyzer and cannot blow successfully.
