Medicinal Cannabis is approved for all Australians to treat Anxiety, Depression and PTSD. DVA and Minister Keogh discriminate against disabled veterans by rejecting MC for the same conditions, forcing veterans on a medication regimen that is worsening their conditions and driving some to suicide.
Hi supporters, the latest Weeded Warrior journal shares the current No More Zombie Veterans campaign letter to DVA Minister Matt Keogh and notes:
“There is clear disparity between the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approving MC for conditions like anxiety, depression, and PTSD for the general population while the DVA denies access to disabled veterans, forcing them onto potentially harmful pharmaceuticals.”

Instead of looking after the health and wellbeing of our disabled veterans and war heroes on behalf of a grateful nation, DVA and Minister Matt Keogh's blanket policy of “no medicinal cannabis for any mental health condition” is forcing our veterans to remain on a polypharmacy medication regimen that overwhelming scientific evidence and lived experience shows is making their conditions worse and is driving some veterans to suicide.
Many veterans report that DVA’s decision to keep them on a medication regimen that is harming them and causing suicide, while blocking access to a life saving medication (that is approved for all Australians), feels like torture, is cruel and inhuman treatment and discriminates against disabled and disadvantaged veterans.
You can help by sharing this petition and writing to your local federal member of parliament or to the minister for Veterans Affairs, the Hon. Matt Keogh MP.
Ask why our veterans are; denied access to a medication approved for all Australians, and are kept on a medication regimen that evidence shows is worsening their conditions and driving some to suicide.
Thank you for your support,
Derek
