Hi supporters,
After a break I am back in the saddle and have contacted my local Federal MP again, Hon Stephen Jones MP asking for his support in veterans with PTSD having access to medicinal cannabis as a treatment option instead of the DVA cocktail of anti-psychotics, anticonvulsants, antidepressants, mood stabilisers, benzodiazepines and z-drugs (sleepers).
Also next weekend (11th to 13th August) I will be attending the Australian Medicinal Cannabis Symposium to talk about negative experiences I had with DVA supplied 'mental health' medications and the life changing relief I found with medicinal cannabis.
Thank you and please remember to sign and share this campaign.
Kind regards,
Derek

Dear Minister Jones,
I hope you are well and thank you for meeting with me in September of last year to discuss the reasons why Australian veterans desperately need access to medicinal cannabis as a treatment option for the PTSD they battle with everyday.
Minister Jones last year we discussed the sad fact that Australian veterans suffering with PTSD are being supplied with a cocktail of Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), approved ‘mental health medications’ which include anti-psychotics, anticonvulsants, antidepressants, mood stabilisers, benzodiazepines and z-drugs (sleepers). Lived experience and scientific studies the world over have proven that these medications are dangerous, ineffective, cause relationship breakdowns and often lead to suicide. Scientific studies and personal experience have shown that medicinal cannabis is a safe, efficient and cost effective treatment option for mental health conditions like PTSD, it can replace the DVA supplied cocktail that is sadly still considered safe for our vulnerable veterans while it slowly kills them and destroys their families.
Minister Jones after decades of worsening mental and physical health on the DVA supplied mental health cocktail, many Australian veterans (like myself) have finally found relief from their PTSD symptoms through the use of medicinal cannabis, thankfully with the help of this medication we are starting to rebuild our lives, reconnecting with our separated families and children and becoming functioning members of the community again instead of medicated zombies.
Minister Jones as my local federal member I am once again asking for your support in my request for DVA subsidised medicinal cannabis to treat my treatment resistant PTSD, and for your support in changing DVAs outdated policy of “no medicinal cannabis for any mental health condition” to a policy which recognises that medicinal cannabis is a safe, effective and vastly cheaper medication for Australian veterans suffering from the symptoms of PTSD.
I will be attending the Australian Medicinal Cannabis Symposium in Brisbane (11th to 13th August) next weekend where once again I will be talking on stage about my terrible experiences on these DVA supplied mental health ‘medications’ and the life changing benefits I gained through the use of medicinal cannabis.
I look forward to hearing from you and working with you on this important issue.
Kindest regards,,
Derek Pyrah
