I have spoken to a few legislators, but they just don't seem to understand. And normally they only talk to their own constituents, so we need your help. 

Call your representatives to tell them about this petition! 

I have so many stories from people who have spoken up, but I haven't been able to break past the walls of Oklahoma, so please send this message to your legislators:

"Sir/Ma'am,

We need your help. The aviation industry is starting to face an issue that, if left unchecked, is going to drastically affect the safety of air travel in this country. We are short pilots and controllers because of an unnecessarily cumbersome medical process. In turn, this creates pilots and controllers who fear medical diagnoses because it may take too long for the FAA to send them back to flying. So instead of seeking treatment, they have unknown conditions that may affect the safety of their passengers without them evening knowing it. Pilots and controllers need to know that they can be seen by medical professionals, be treated, and recover, without wondering if they will ever get their jobs back. Because right now, if someone needs to get a clearance from the FAA to fly it could take several YEARS...even though their primary care physicians have already deemed them safe to go back to work!
