At its 4th June meeting, the Inner West Council unanimously voted for the motion raised by Councillors Dylan Griffiths and Tim Stephens on our petition. The council resolution acknowledged our petition and has requested council staff to produce a report outlining opportunities to accelerate cycleway delivery.
Another large group of supporters rode to that meeting together, to show Councillors the overwhelming community support for active transport in the Inner West. However, we need more than a report to improve our streets!
As they gear up for the imminent local government elections, now is a great time to reach out to your elected representatives and upcoming candidates. Be sure to let them know that you want a safer and more enjoyable experience when walking and riding around our vibrant villages. 🚴♂️

As always, please consider sharing this petition with more of your friends, family, colleagues, and neighbours. Safer streets for all road users will help reduce traffic, parking difficulties, fumes, and noise - so you may be surprised by non-riders who'd be happy to sign our petition and would love to ride if they felt safer!
