Dealing with more quirks THAN normal...
I am not a robot, or a doctor or a nurse or a therapist or a PSW or a neurologist or a psychologist or a psychiatrist or a physio therapist or a psychoanalyst or a personal assistant or a financial administrator or a lawyer or a laundry technician or a contractor or a mechanic or an electrician or a personal shopper or a Molly Maid or a chef or a chauffeur or an entertainment organizer or an appointment scheduler
I am a wife, the wife, the UNPAID SPOUSAL caregiver, the mother of our sons, grandma to our grandchildren. World to my husband, as he can't put Hiya I shows on without me, but I am very tired and my patience very thin.
I try my hardest to keep my husband at home rather than in a long term care situation, as it would be putting a lion in a bird cage and the only one local has a 5 + years waiting list. Being somewhere not local would mean I wouldn't be able to visit him. We/he have no family in Canada(to speak of) and friends have their own busy lives
Sole SPOUSAL UNPAID Caregiver... working part time to survive - Dealing with FTD, Logopenic Variant PPA - No overnight respite unless I pay for it. If we could afford $40 - $100 A DAY I wouldn't be working.
No facilities available in Milton, none close by, if you don't drive your SOL -
We shouldn't have to pay for overnight respite. Drug and alcohol rehabilitation is covered by OHIP. My husband goes to the Adult Day Programs, I have to pay for, that's why I am still working to keep our heads above water.
I am sure some of you can relate!!!
