The resignation of Councillor Kareema Marikar as Mayor of Harrow

The resignation of Councillor Kareema Marikar as Mayor of Harrow
The Issue
Councillor Kareema Marikar has failed as both community member and Mayor to represent the people of our Borough (Harrrow). We are a multi-cultural community with various backgrounds and the Tamil community, who were persecuted during the civil war in Sri Lanka, found offense to her post regarding Brigadier Priyanka Fernando. He is a military official who was prosecuted and found guilty of war crimes and yet she praised him on social media during her visit to Sri Lanka. We don't believe that our community can benefit from Councillor Kareema Marikar being our Mayor as she fails to acknowledge the consequences of her actions and clearly does not care about the values and history of the people who she 'supposedly' represents. We call for her resignation as Mayor of Harrow to ensure that the people of our community are heard and treated with respect without political and personal bias acting on her decisions.
