Mayor Khan, you are Chair of Transport for London which has entered into a joint venture company with the developer Capital and Counties Properties Plc (Capco), demolishing the Earl’s Court Exhibition Centres to build luxury flats on what was publicly owned land, with not one council home to be built.  Please come off the fence and call the Earls Court Masterplan in now.  Build a range of green, low rise, high density housing options including council housing; green space; community infrastructure; connectivity and accessibility and the world’s greenest venue on the site. The uncertainty over the future of this 77 acre development is bad for local residents, businesses and the London economy. The site should be put to use on a temporary basis while its future is decided.

After hearing about financial difficulties at Capco and plans to sell the site to another developer, we have since had reports that Capco now plan to 'intensify it'. Including some token number of social homes in the development would be unacceptable to us, and the fact will remain that this development still fails on climate change, social, economic, cultural and Olympic legacy grounds. Declaring a climate change emergency in London in December 2018 was pointless Mayor Khan, if you allow this development to continue without major changes.
