We welcome Minister for Local Government Paul Toole's announcement to suspend Auburn Council effective today and to commence a public inquiry into the council's conduct. “Auburn ratepayers deserve a strong council that is acting in their best interests. The only way to achieve this is for me to temporarily suspend the Councillors so the inquiry can be undertaken effectively.” - Paul Toole (Minister for Local Government) We urge the Minister for Local Government to permanently ban the 'super six' (including Le Lam, Salim Mehajer, Ronney Oueik, Ned Attie...) councilors from local government. Salim Mehajer should be condemned for his continued refusal accept responsibility for the current situation that Auburn Council finds itself in. To call the NSW Government's decision to suspend Council an 'abuse of power' is nonsense as it is he himself and others in Council that have been abusing their position. We support the suspension of Auburn City Council and the public inquiry. We urge everyone with information to make a submission to the commissioner and call for the Office of Local Government to extensively advertise the public inquiry as well as making it accessible to the multicultural community of Auburn.
