Se constituye en La Azohía (Cartagena), la denominada Plataforma Ciudadana SOS La Azohía, con la intención de acercar al conjunto de ciudadanos y asociaciones interesadas un punto de encuentro para tratar, organizar y proponer todo tipo de actos informativos, reivindicativos y constitutivos relacionados con la protección del Patrimonio y la Identidad de La Azohía.
La Plataforma Ciudadana SOS La Azohía se constituye como un movimiento transparente, apartidista, plural, inclusivo, equitativo y respetuoso con las opiniones de quienes formen parte de la misma.
Los integrantes de la Plataforma Ciudadana SOS La Azohía deben estar informados sobre la previsión de proyectos, obras y cualquier acción que se lleve a cabo en la localidad que pueda afectar al Patrimonio y la Identidad de La Azohía. Y así poder tener voz y capacidad de intervención sobre los mismos.
La Plataforma Ciudadana SOS La Azohía desea participar en la evolución y desarrollo sostenible de su localidad mediante el impulso y demanda de mejoras, que redunden en la preservación del patrimonio natural y cultural, y aquellos signos de identidad que definen la imagen de La Azohía, y ofrecer una mayor calidad de vida a sus habitantes y visitantes, en armonía con el entorno.
La condición para ser integrante de la Plataforma Ciudadana SOS La Azohía se limita a defender los objetivos por los que se define su constitución, que son los siguientes:
1) Promover la conservación de los espacios naturales, culturales y libres de la localidad.
En aras de proteger y mantener la biodiversidad existente en los mismos y su valor
paisajístico.
2) Promover acciones para preservar la identidad de la localidad, caracterizada por ser una zona del litoral que conserva espacios libres y naturales, con una arquitectura orgánica y zonas no masificadas.
3) Reivindicar la protección de la zona correspondiente al Palmeral de San Ginés de La Azohía y la zona natural adyacente, conocida coloquialmente como el Campo del Alacrán (cuya área se extiende por el margen izquierdo del final de la Rambla del Cañar), ante cualquier tipo de construcción que atente contra su patrimonio natural y cultural y su valor paisajístico, a través de diferentes figuras de protección como:
- Su clasificación como suelo no urbanizable protegido en el plan urbanístico del
municipio de Cartagena.
- Su integración al Catálogo de árboles monumentales y singulares del municipio de
Cartagena.

The so-called SOS La Azohía Citizen Platform is established in La Azohía (Cartagena), with the intention of bringing all interested citizens and associations to a meeting point to discuss, organize and propose all types of informative, protest and constitutive events related to the protection of the Heritage and Identity of La Azohía.
The SOS La Azohía Citizen Platform is established as a transparent, non-partisan, plural, inclusive, equitable and respectful movement with the opinions of those who are part of it.
The members of the SOS La Azohía Citizen Platform must be informed about the forecast of projects, works and any action carried out in the town that may affect the Heritage and Identity of La Azohía. And thus be able to have a voice and the ability to intervene over them.
The SOS La Azohía Citizen Platform wishes to participate in the evolution and sustainable development of its town by promoting and demanding improvements, which result in the preservation of the natural and cultural heritage, and those signs of identity that define the image of La Azohía, and offer a higher quality of life to its inhabitants and visitors, in harmony with the environment.
The condition to be a member of the SOS La Azohía Citizen Platform is limited to defending the objectives by which its constitution is defined, which are the following:
1) Promote the conservation of natural, cultural and free spaces in La Azohía. In order to protect and maintain their existing biodiversity and their landscape value.
2) Promote actions to preserve the identity of the town, characterized by being a coastal area that preserves free and natural spaces, with organic architecture and non-crowded areas.
3) Claim the protection of the area corresponding to the Palm Grove of San Ginés de La Azohía and the adjacent natural area, known colloquially as the Campo del Alacrán
(whose area extends along the left bank of the end of the Rambla del Cañar), against any type of construction that threatens its natural and cultural heritage and its landscape value, through different protection figures such as:
- Its classification as protected non-developable land in the urban plan of the municipality of Cartagena.
- Its integration into the Catalogue of monumental and unique trees of the municipality of Cartagena.
