The hunger strike has come to an end even though the demands have not been met due to an ongoing lawsuit "Chavez vs. Santa Clara County 5:15-cv-05277 ( N.D. Cal. ) " https://www.clearinghouse.net/detail.php?id=15145 A magistrate judge held a mediation session on solitary confinement issues in Santa Clara County concerning the Chavez Vs. Santa Clara County Class Action lawsuit which is hoped will result in some progress. The Prison Law Office which has taken on the suit is hoping to get some clarity to the County’s position as they have not made any commitments. Until then there will be no changes made inside the County Jail until the ongoing lawsuit is settled. In the meantime, please continue to support the Prisoners United of the Santa Clara County Main Jail. Keep those phone calls and emails going to the sheriff's office as well as the board of supervisors. I will continue to keep everyone informed of any changes as they come about.
