Help to stop mass reprisals!

Igor Iasine
Moscow, Russia

Apr 12, 2017 — “The detained have been tortured, violated with bottles, and beaten. Some have been beaten nearly to death and returned to their relatives like a sack of bones. I definitely know of two deaths…” So one witness described his experience in a secret prison in Chechnya, after a large-scale rounding up of homosexual men (according to Novaya Gazeta). These people now exist in an informational and legal vacuum; no one is defending them.

The authorities, the media, and many ordinary people stand with the local strongmen who habitually create lawlessness, torture people, and making money in doing so: “Some of the members of law enforcement entrapped me. They blackmailed me, I paid money to the police every month in a sum of some tens of thousands (of rubles). Hush money” (-a witness to Novaya Gazeta).

We are already 65,000+ signatures, and we can put an end to this cruel repression! But only with your support can we draw the attention of Russian media, society, and politicians and, finally, force them to investigate these facts.

You can help save these innocent people from the reprisals and killings in Chechnya. But you must act now. If we collect hundreds of thousands of signatures, we will be impossible to ignore. Please tell your friends about this; share the news as widely as you can:
