Richard Prosser MP's statements have unjustifiably and seriously impugned New Zealand muslims and millions of muslims world-wide:

"If you are a young male and you are a Muslim or you look like a Muslim or you come from a Muslim Country...then you're not welcome to travel on any of the West's airlines"

"[New Zealand's] excessive tolerance couple with the twin evils of diversity and multiculturalism... mean that the terrorists have already won."

When given the opportunity to apologise, he first compounded the injury, before lately issuing a qualified apology. But the damage is done. Prosser's insulting, illogical statements have been reported globally and will significantly damage our international reputation, to the detriment of New Zealanders and hardworking New Zealand tourism and export businesses. Forcing Richard Prosser's resignation will send a clear signal that his views in no way represent our country or our values.
