we all hope the animals we eat are cared for correctly before the inevitable. however, sadly this isn't always the case and consumers have no choice or knowledge about what they are buying and how it was killed. Some halal meats are stunned before slaughter others are not. To regulate correctly the humane slaughter of animals without making matters worse by labelling 'HALAL' we should simply label 'stunned' or 'not stunned' so the consumer can make the choice.
