WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!

I cannot quite believe almost five years on I am writing this message to you, but we have actually DONE IT!!! Today the I can say the Opt Out Organ donation system has become Law in England.
THANK YOU to all of you - You made this happen, I could not have done it without your support.
It is called Max & Keira's Law after the two children who finally made it all happen. This means unless you Opt Out in would be assumed you were in favour of organ donation.
Unfortunately due to the current Covid-19 crisis this law for obvious reasons won't actually be in practice yet and we are still waiting the second legislation to be passed where MPs vote on face and limb transplants (it is expected as with the opt in system explicit consent would've been needed to do these so they will not be covered under the opt out system). This was due to happen in late April but understandably MPs had other things to deal with by then.
What a journey it has been to get here, when I began this petition in 2015 little did I know what it would lead to. Meeting other fellow campaigners along the way, developing a petition pack, speaking to local schools and businesses and hearing some of yourselves about your reasons for signing. This law change will lead to more transplants being carried out in the future. Giving others the second chance I've been lucky enough to receive ❤
I was lucky enough to chat to my local radio stations BBC Radio Wiltshire and Spire FM about the campaign today. There was also an article published in a local paper:
