The squeamish parts...

I was watching the video below and it made me think of how a lot of people I have spoken to have said they would be happy to donate all their organs and tissues except their eyes and heart, and I can understand that as they can be considered quite spiritual bits of the body. And it made me remember how as a child I was never sure about donating my eyes, but it was when I realised the worst sense for me to ever lose would be my sight that I saw how much I could help someone by donating my corneas. Also I later found out how skillfully the donation is done the donors eyes being carefully closed over domes to preserve the full eyeball shape, which made it seem a lot less scary. I also think donating your heart is one of the most incredible things you can do as you are sharing your life - the beat literally goes on in the the transplant recipient's body. And if transplantation rates remain the same 3,378 transplants will have been carried out in total by 31st March 2017, which would sadly leave 4618 people on the waiting list (this is assuming no one is added before then which we know will not be the case). So please keep Sharing this - this time last one share resulted in 1000 Signatures being gained in one week - you never know the response one person can have reading it!
