The DWP have constantly and adamantly denied that benefit sanction targets exist. In a statement to The Oakley Review John Longden stated “Customers were being deliberately treated inappropriately in order to achieve [staff] performance [targets] without regard for natural justice and their welfare.” He went on to state: that he was told by a manager that the message with regard to customers was: “Let’s set them up from day one.” Criminal behaviour? She was standing in a crowd at a rally holding two placards. The first placard was a photo of Luke. Under a picture of Luke it said 21st Sept 1972 - 29th May 2015. Luke was 43 years old. The second placard which was black had white lettering saying: SCHIZOPHRENIC "YET FIT TO WORK" SANCTIONED. BENEFITS STOPPED. LEFT PENNILESS. HUGE DEBTS. HELPLESS. DEAD BLOOD OF THE POOR AND MENTALLY ILL ON DWP HANDS. NO JUSTICE. NO PEACE. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Natalie and her family.
