After only a couple of days this petition has been in the news! http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/26-ways-tories-were-told-6364780 In this article a DWP spokesman said: "The vast majority of those on benefits do the right thing by looking for work, and the number of sanctions are going down". BUT Dr David Webster an Honorary Senior Research Fellow (Urban Studies) at the University of Glasgow, is saying that: "They (sanctions) have fallen by about 44% from their peaks, the main reason being a fall of 37% in the average number of Jobseekers Allowance (JSA) claimants" You can read more here: http://blog.spicker.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/15-08-Sanctions-Stats-Briefing-D.Webster-Aug-2015.pdf Mr Cameron, at The Conservative Conference 2010 you said the government's commitment to fairness means giving people "what they deserve". I for one do not believe that you meant people to go without funds that sustain life, this is not what they deserve! Since coming to power in May, the government has found time in the July budget to introduce welfare budget cuts by £12bn but they cannot find the time to implement the recommendations of this review. Please remedy this. Yet again, we the public are having to call The Government to account! Thank you for your support Please keep signing and sharing.
