DOT went ahead last month and published a policy report which was much better than the TRAI consultation but still it has the following negativ eimplications for the citizens of india ..more specifically our rights on the internet The cons of the proposal:- 1.Local VOIP calls need to be licensed.the cost of these licences will then be passed over to the consumers.This is being done on the premise of VOIP cannabilizing Telco revenues which everyone knows is not the whole story. 2.Zero rating would be allowed on a case to case basis by TRAI .This was one of the other things that was vehemently opposed by All of us in our mails to TRAI.
