PUTTING A STOP TO PUPPY FARMING, AND GIVING A DOG UP FOR ADOPTION ANOTHER CHANCE AT LIFE.

I want to put a STOP to all puppy farms and make society aware of how they can avoid buying a puppy off an unreliable breeder. 85% of puppies are being sold in Australia alone which are not being sold from registered breeders. This means only 15% of puppies are being sold legally in Australia.

Puppy farms keep their dogs in traumatic conditions where the dog is unable to move around. The dogs are kept in small rusty cages, sometimes with more than 1 dog per cage. Majority of puppy farm dogs have major health issues, and genetic issues which gives them a short painful life. Lastly certainly not least, the dogs are abused by the people who work in the puppy farms.

Pet stores, accepted any dogs from any places without knowing where the puppy is coming from. Pet stores where the most supporting of puppy farms as they accepted any dogs. These puppies where then sold to the public and the without the new owners knowing the risks of their new pet.

Buying puppies of a reliable source means, YOU KNOW where the puppy is coming from. YOU KNOW the puppies history; the parents and if their blood line is clean. YOU KNOW if the person is a registered breeder they should be able to provide a registered number with supporting documents. All puppies should come with a vet medical card.

I want to make aware that there are adoption centres, that people can go to buy a pup/dog that are spaded, wormed, vaccinated, healthy and just looking for a loving home. Pet stores, if allowed to sell animals should be selling animals up for adoption, this way animals have a fair chance of another chance at life. Pet stores are more local then the major adoption centres, this means there is higher chance of healthy, adoption animal getting a new home.

This is just one way to not support puppy farming, and decrease the percentage of someone paying full price for a puppy that is from a puppy farm.

This petition is to spread the awareness of puppy farming and avoiding unreliable breeders. Give an adoption dog another chance at life.
