Have your say in a review of the Animal Care and Protection Act 2001

Hi All,

Recently, a friend alerted me to a pending review and audit of the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF). Why is this significant? For all intents and purposes, the RSPCA appear to be a rogue organisation. They are not considered 'government', nor are they a private enterprise. It certainly appears as though they are not accountable.. to anyone!! Not even the Queensland Ombudsman has any authority or influence over this rogue organisation.

However.. I've recently been advised that this is not actually the case because it is part of the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries remit to keep the RSPCA in check. But, this has not occurred.. for some time actually. 

It is now time for the people to have their say and review practices that are questionable at best, criminal at worst. The review of the Department closes on 21 May 2021. Please visit the link below and either take the survey or complete a submission - by email or post.
