This petition was developed to create awareness and change with domestic animal ‘duty of care’ laws - to prevent animal cruelty in Australia, provide assistance to people who can no longer provide for domestic animals in their care (assistance with mental health issues surrounding hoarding and backyard breeding) and potentially creating an umbrella assistance group with police agencies that will envoke rescues to communicate when urgent foster care is required due to a duty of care failing and animal safety has been compromised.
