Stop Royal Holloway University of London's proposed tuition fee increase to £9,250

Stop Royal Holloway University of London's proposed tuition fee increase to £9,250
The Issue
As shown on the Royal Holloway website here https://www.royalholloway.ac.uk/ecampus/finance/feepayments/ukeuundergraduatetuitionfees.aspx and on the BBC news website here http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-36845106 Royal Holloway will increase tuition fees to £9,250 following 'Government confirmation.'
Under the government's proposals, if universities meet a threshold of good-quality teaching, they will be able to increase fees with inflation, which for 2017 is calculated as allowing an extra £250. However as stated by Gordon Marsden the inflation link on tuition fees means that there is no guarantee on how high fees could rise.
The Labour Society at Royal Holloway believes increasing debt isn't in the best interests of students and that we as a student body should petition Paul Layzell and other figures to keep tuition fees at £9000.
