Update petisiRoyal Commission into the Killing of Australian Women and Girls28TH & 29TH AUSTRALIAN WOMEN KILLED IN 2026

A 46-year-old woman and two little boys - aged four and 12 - were murdered yesterday in Campbelltown, NSW. A man - known to the victims and believed to be the woman's partner - is charged with three counts of murder (domestic violence).

A man is charged with the murder of a woman in New Town, Tasmania. Her body was found on Saturday but she was killed some weeks earlier.

They are the is the 28th  and 29th Australian women killed this year. The children are the 8th and 9th lost to violence.  Last year we lost 79 women to violence - the year before 106 women were killed.
Please see the separate toll post for the children.
Five femicides were confirmed within six days across the country. We also lost two women to murder-suicides and a woman was killed by her son (allegedly).
When Prime Minister Anthony Albanese dismissed the need for a Royal Commission into Femicide, he said it was a waste of money and then listed a raft of measures his government is taking. He described these measures as 'throwing money at the problem'. Here's the thing, the measures are not working, there are holes in safety nets all around Australia, women are being turned away from domestic violence services in droves and the so-called measures do not even address stranger violence or associate violence - in other words, we only focus on 60% of violence against women (those attacks involving domestic violence).
Nothing is working. The only real change we are seeing is the rise in the toll of children and women killed.

Please help me get a Royal Commission into the Killing of Women and Girls - sign the petition (f you haven't already) and share it with your circle. The more voices we get the better chance we have of success!
