Two more women were murdered this past week in Australia.
About April 1, Eva Lasrini, a 53-year-old mum from Dandenong, disappeared. Her phone was switcvhed off and she failed to contact her family.
Some three days later police stopped a 67-year-old man at Melbourne Airport before he boarded an international flight. They also found a woman's body at Little River. That man is now charged with Eva's murder.
In Western Australia, a 24-year-old woman was killed on April 1. A woman known to her was taken into custody and charged with her murder.
This means we have now lost 18 women to acts of violence since the start of the year.
Last year we lost 79 women to violence - the year before 106 women were killed. The victim was reported missing two days ago. The 67-year-old man was arrested at Melbourne Airport this afternoon before he boarded an international flight.
