The numbers are still rising...

You know what else is still rising? The number of babies killed by undiagnosed Vasa Praevia.

Since I started this petition on 10th October there will have been (statistically speaking) at least a further 14 deaths in the UK of otherwise perfectly healthy, full term babies.

14 further deaths. In one month.

I'll let that sink in...

Today I emailed the people at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the UK National Screening Committee. I also forwarded the email to a few other organisations who might be able to help.

I will let you know when I hear back from the RCOG and the UK NSC. In the meantime, can you please continue to share the petition?

Now that the people with the power to decide have the link, I want them to see the numbers climbing each time they look at it.

I want them to know that this is not going to go away if they ignore it.

Since beginning this a month ago I have noticed that the petition numbers jump up dramatically when people share and ask their friends and family to sign. I know from watching names flick up on the screen that sometimes people who we know don't sign right away. It's not because they don't agree, or don't care. People do care and they want to help, but they can't always get to do it the first time they see this. There's nothing wrong with a gentle reminder.

• Keep asking people to share and sign,
• Keep sharing on your own page and in groups you feel are relevant
• Keep on tagging and sharing with organisations who might be able to help us get the word out there.
