Mise à jour sur la pétitionChronic Pain Sufferers are not the same as Heroin Addicts.Trump Signs New Bill into Law

The Support for Patients and Communities Act that Trump signed in to law on October 24, 2018 included the following data:

Studies have shown between less than 1 percent and 12 percent of people who use opioids become addicted, and in 2016, more deaths were caused by fentanyl than prescribed medication. People who misuse opioids often use other drugs in combination with opioids and face mental healthchallenges, and most commonly get pills from friends or relatives, not doctors.

This comes from the government's OWN data, yet one of the many aims of this law is to discourage, and restrict the use of Opioids for Chronic Pain patients, especially those with Medicare, or Medicaid.

I can't be the only one that sees the Hypocrisy in this! If they are aware that this is what the data shows, why harass a whole group of people that do not fall into any of these categories? Why make it to where these people are now being forced to either live in agony for the rest of their lives, or force them into suicide because the mere thought of that is just too much for them to bear?

I truly believe that the government, and the media has blown this "Opioid Epidemic" way out of proportion. An addict is always going to find something to abuse (whether it is Opiates, or something else). I think the government is making a HUGE mistake. I think that more people are going to ultimately die because of these new laws - the very thing the government is supposedly trying to prevent.

Please continue to support this petition. I thank each, and every one of you that has signed. Please continue to get the word out. SHARE, SHARE, SHARE. I hope we can stop the government from doing something they are going to truly regret!
