I met with many local restaurant partners who had no idea about Rouses trashing policy.  This letter from the Rouses Creative Director was a reply to one inquiry on my behalf. 

This response would have us believe that ALL the sell by date bread pulled from the shelves is made into bread pudding and finger sandwiches!  Please note she comfirms they encourage customers and vendors to donate but NEVER answers the question why they do NOT.  It has been confirmed multiple times that they trash the fresh perishables.  Not sure I want a high priced finger sandwich made from sell by ingredients.  This letter was the tipping point and began this petition.
