Further to my petition update on Tuesday quoting press reports and councillors, I am pleased to confirm that my petition will be considered by the Council’s Operations and Monitoring Committee on 4th June and that I will be able to speak to the petition in person at this meeting. Staff at the Council have been in touch, explaining the process and helping me to prepare for the meeting.

I feel it is important to point out that there is no political motivation behind this petition.

I started this petition because I care about the CBD and the impact the parking system is having on small businesses, especially during Covid-19 recovery.  I have nothing personal against any of the Councillors or the Mayor, Steve Chadwick, as may have been implied by the headlines and reports quoted in my previous Petition Update.

I am looking forward to presenting the petition and voicing your comments at the committee meeting.

In the meantime, please do continue to share the petition and help gather further signatories and comments.

Thanks,

Susan
