Good news and bad news and your chance to make it all good news!

The US authorities have insisted that Scottish Fish Farms STOP shooting seals or they will not accept UK imports of farmed fish.

But, this could lead to even more use of ADDs unless ALL fish-farms are forced to do what the responsible farms are already doing and fit double nets.

This Wednesday June 17th the Scottish Parliament will be debating the Animal & Wildlife Bill. There are three amendments which if voted for by enough MSPs should bring an end to the use of ADDs on farms and improve protection for Marine Protected Areas.

If you live in Scotland please email all your MSPs and ask for them to vote for these amendments.

Mark Ruskell: Amendment 29A. Which would include exposure to an ADD a form of injury and thus tighten up existing laws.

Mark Ruskell: Amendment 55. Which requires a report which could highlight the failure to enforce existing laws protecting cetaceans.

Claudia Beamish: Amendment 61 which would make it a wildlife offence to damage a Marine Protected Area.
