Join Don’t Mute DC as we honor "Madness" co-founders Ty Johnson and Eddie Van and their journey from selling clothes at a DC barbershop in 1983 to becoming global pioneers of urban fashion. Also honored will be iconic Washington fashion brands that followed: DDTP (1985), We R One (1995), Alldāz (1998), H.O.B.O. (1996), SHOOTERS (1997), and The Museum (2015). These innovators will appear together in-person for the first time at this free event.
Crank courtesy of TOB, The Royal Pocket All-Stars, and Black Alley. Join us as we celebrate these DC entrepreneurs and philanthropists for pointing the way toward economic freedom for Black communities.
2-6 p.m. Mon., June 19th. 1110 Oak Dr. SE Wash, D.C. (the new retail village Sycamore & Oak on the old campus of St. E’s.)
