Justice for Cain and Family

Justice for Cain and Family
The Issue
My dog was murdered. My daughters’ dog was murdered. In front of two of my girls while one of them was holding his collar. Let that sink in. If the man that decided to shoot my dog because he looked scary would have aimed two inches over he could have killed my ten year old as well. Cain was a good boy, I knew he was a good boy the minute I laid eyes on him at the kill shelter. Cain was my boy. He was my family. He was my safe place, my protector, and my fourth baby. His life was snuffed out, because someone had let him off his heavy duty leash in my backyard, and before I could get outside my daughter was bringing him back. Before my sweet daughter could get him to the house, someone with a gun decided that his life didn’t have value, he also decided my daughter’s life must not have value either considering the fact he shot her dog while she was holding him, while she was right next to him, while she begged him not to shoot her dog. The man’s name is Brian Christopher Stewart. Remember his name, because this isn’t the first time he’s been in trouble with the law for violence, nor the first time he’s used a firearm dangerously. Brian not only has a charge regarding weapons, he’s been in trouble with the law for domestic violence, and menacing. He’s threatened to kill the mother of his child and her son. He actually attempted to stab the mother of his child during that same altercation according to the police report. And that is only one instance regarding this monster and violence towards women. Clearly, this “man” isn’t a danger to just animals. He’s a danger. He has no regard for anyone’s life, be it human or animal. My children have woken up with night terrors, they’re afraid to stay in our home now, they’ve cried countless times, I’ve cried countless times. I’ve had to put them in counseling, they’re acting out, which is understandable. What child should have to see their dog shot? Especially a ten and six year old? What child deserves to have their dog’s blood on them after watching a man murder their dog? What mother deserves to run outside to check on her children who were playing with their neighbors, wailing because their dog was murdered? None. And I keep using the word murder because that’s what it was. I ran outside after taking my middle daughter in for a bathroom break to complete devastation. My girls were sobbing and wailing, it didn’t register what was being said at first. I just rushed them in the house to safety. That is until my dog, who was chained in my backyard, limped towards me gushing blood with a confused look in his eyes. Not only did Brian shoot our family member, he wasn’t even outside before Cain was already in my daughter’s possession. He went in his house, got the gun, came outside and began shooting. He told the police that himself, and multiple witnesses have said the same thing. Think about that. He was in no immediate danger, my dog wasn’t going to attack him, he was in his house. He saw my dog and my child and came outside to shoot him. According to my daughter, she had told him twice that it was her dog, and she begged him not to shoot Cain. He obviously murdered my dog anyway. He then chose to lie to the police five different times about shooting him. Five different times. His story changed five times. Then, tried to clean up the mess before the police circled back around. I deserve justice, my girls deserve justice, but most of all, CAIN DESERVES JUSTICE. Please, please, please sign this petition to have Brian Christopher Stewart, birthday 8/24/1971 charged with Discharging a weapon in city limits, Child Endangerment, Animal Cruelty, and Obstruction of Justice. Thank you so very much for helping us get this monster off the streets, and hopefully soon we will feel safe enough to be in our own home.
